Protecting children: best hope for the future

Every November, we celebrate National Children’s Month in the Philippines. This year’s theme is: “Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines.”

This theme is very important because it reminds us that all children deserve to grow up in a safe and happy environment. But, some children experience violence, whether at home, school, or in their communities. This month, we focus on how we can stop violence and protect every child.

There are ways we can help in order to protect children. First, we need to understand that violence can be physical, like hitting, or emotional, like bullying. When we see or hear about something wrong, we should speak up. We can tell a teacher, a parent, or an adult who can help.

To make the Philippines a safer place for kids, we all need to work together. We can support programs that protect children, treat them with respect, and help them grow up with love and care. Every child deserves a chance to live without fear and have a bright future. Let's unite and make this world a place where children feel safe.
