The Reason Filipinos Observe Chinese New Year

    Chinese New Year is a big celebration in the Philippines, especially for the Filipino-Chinese community, but many Filipinos also take part in the festivities. This celebration has been part of Filipino culture for centuries because of the strong relationship between the Philippines and China. Chinese immigrants have lived in the country for many years, and their traditions have blended with Filipino culture. Today, Chinese New Year is a time for families to come together and celebrate, regardless of their heritage.

    Filipinos observe Chinese New Year because it is a time for new beginnings and good luck. People often give "ang pao," red envelopes filled with money, to children and unmarried adults. This is a tradition meant to bring good fortune. Filipinos also clean their homes before the New Year to get rid of bad luck and welcome good energy. Families prepare special foods that are thought to bring good health and wealth, such as noodles for long life and dumplings for prosperity.   

     In the Philippines, Chinese New Year is not just about traditions, it’s also a time for fun and excitement. In places like Binondo, Manila’s Chinatown, there are parades, dragon dances, and fireworks that everyone can enjoy. These activities bring people together, showing how different cultures can celebrate and share joy. The celebration of Chinese New Year in the Philippines is a reminder of the country’s rich history and the importance of unity and hope for a better year.

          Every year, we celebrate Environment Month to remind everyone about how important it is to take care of our planet. This month is all about learning how we can help protect nature, reduce pollution, and make the Earth a better place for everyone. My journey in ICT this Second Quarter

 In our ICT class, I learned about HTML and the basic HTML tags. HTML is like the language of the internet. It helps us create and design websites. I learned a lot about HMTL Tags and Attribute this Second Quarter, I discovered that tags like <p> for paragraphs are used to organize information on a page. https://mason.gmu.edu/~kshiffl4/375/HTML_Tags.jpg At first, coding felt tricky because I had to be careful with every symbol and letter. But as I practiced, I immediately learned coding and I don't struggle that much anymore. It was a fun quarter, there are good memories and bond we made inside the computer laboratory. For me, I felt like this quarter was easy, I actually made an improvement.
