It’s the perfect time to reflect on the past and plan for a better future. For me, “New Year, New Me” means making small but meaningful changes to improve myself and my life. https://media.istockphoto.com/id/1281808576/vector/depressed-woman-lying-on-couch-in-messy-room.jpg?s=612x612&w=0&k=20&c=7mu9g4GoMMKDv4rcUIK98OA2gwNoX1nXMmvjjgvIo70=      This year, I want to focus on building good habits. I will try to wake up earlier, eat healthier, and spend less time on my phone. One of my biggest challenges has been overcoming laziness, so I aim to be more productive and motivated each day. I also want to be more patient and understanding with others. I won't let my emotions control me, instead I'll control my emotions. These change...

A calm and lovely Christmas

Image
This Christmas holiday was quiet and simple for me. I stayed in my room most of the time, enjoying the peace and quiet. I mostly watched movies and scrolled on social media. Even though I didn’t do anything big, I still felt happy because it was Christmas.      One of my favorite parts of the holiday was helping with the decorations. I helped set up the Christmas tree, hang ornaments, and put up lights. The lights made our house look bright and cheerful. It felt good to help make everything look nice for Christmas. On Christmas Day, I spent time with my family. We ate a big meal and celebrated Christmas together, talking and laughing. I received a gift from my family, and it was fun to open it.      Even though we didn’t have a big party, being together made it special. I'm grateful for what I received this Christmas, it's not just about the gifts, but the moments that make this season special. Christmas was simple, but it was full of lo...

My journey in ICT this Second Quarter

Image
In our ICT class, I learned about HTML and the basic HTML tags. HTML is like the language of the internet. It helps us create and design websites. I learned a lot about HMTL Tags and Attribute this Second Quarter, I discovered that tags like <p> for paragraphs are used to organize information on a page. https://mason.gmu.edu/~kshiffl4/375/HTML_Tags.jpg At first, coding felt tricky because I had to be careful with every symbol and letter. But as I practiced, I immediately learned coding and I don't struggle that much anymore. It was a fun quarter, there are good memories and bond we made inside the computer laboratory. For me, I felt like this quarter was easy, I actually made an improvement. My scores in quizzes is more better than the previous quarter.  https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcStpHpXYugLkFRTzIYH_h_N-kj71Xicw-4fFQ&s This lesson taught me that coding takes patience and focus. I felt proud when my code worked, and I can’t wait to learn mo...

Stop Violence Against Women

Image
Violence against women (VAW) is a big problem. Many women suffer from emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. To help protect women, the Philippine government made two important laws: the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children (VAWC) Act of 2004 (RA 9262) and the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313). https://stclaresmedicalcenter.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Violence-Against-Women-2023.jpg The VAWC Act protects women and their children from different kinds of abuse, like hurting them physically, emotionally, or mentally. It helps women get protection, like going to a safe shelter, getting legal help, and making sure abusers are punished. https://www.osce.org/files/imagecache/10_large_gallery/f/images/hires/e/0/504109.jpg?1636728648 The Safe Spaces Act, made in 2019, stops sexual harassment in places like streets, schools, workplaces, and online. It says things like catcalling, stalking, and rude gestures are not allowed. This law helps people report harassment and makes places safer...

The Celebration of Indigenous and their Culture

Image
Every October, we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Month in the Philippines. This year, the theme is: “Mga Katutubo at Katutubong Dunong: Pahalagahan, Pangalagaan at Parangalana,” which means “Valuing, Nurturing, and Honoring Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous Knowledge.” https://u4d2z7k9.rocketcdn.me/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Untitled-1024-%C3%97-683px.jpg This month helps us remember and respect the Indigenous Peoples (IPs) in our country. These are the people who have lived in the Philippines long before modern cities were built. They have their own languages, traditions, and ways of living that are special and important in our history. The Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) was created 27 years ago to protect the rights of Indigenous Peoples. It helps ensure that they have the right to live in their own land, use their resources, and practice their culture without fear of being harmed or forgotten. https://www.amnesty.org/en/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/286723-1.jpg Durin...

How Resilient Filipinos Are

Image
The weather in the Philippines is constantly changing and this is because of climate change. Climate change happens when the Earth gets warmer because of things like pollution and deforestation. In the Philippines, we see this change in stronger storms, floods, and higher temperatures. https://www.noaa.gov/sites/default/files/styles/landscape_width_1275/public/2022-03/PHOTO-Climate-Collage-Diagonal-Design-NOAA-Communications-NO-NOAA-Logo.jpg The main cause of climate change is the burning of fossil fuels, like coal, oil, and gas. When we use these, they release gases into the air that trap heat from the sun, making the Earth hotter. This affects our weather, causing disasters like typhoons and floods. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS64JvXVMlZGoS1VUtByoYrTqTNIL9VCBex2Q& Even though we face these challenges, Filipinos are known for being strong and able to come up with solutions. People work together to rebuild after disasters. They plant trees to help stop flo...
